HD photograph of Carre de fer nord inside Jardin des Tuileries looking easterly - Page 256
As we were standing by the Carre de fer nord, we took this photo looking in an easterly direction towards the Petit Reserve nord, which are two parterres located within the Grand Carre area of the Jardin des Tuileries, and although covered up due to renovation works, the building you can see is a part of the Louvre Museum called the Pavillon de Marsan.
In fact, the Musee du Louvre now has the responsibility of managing these gardens, which became classified and protected as an historical monument back in 1914, and then in 1991 the Tuileries Gardens became listed with UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, along with parts of the River Seine.
