From luxury rooms through to entire suites, a four star hotel will be able to provide you with numerous creature comforts which normally includes the rooms being on a slightly large size than those found in 3 star hotels, and especially those of budget hotels.

Obviously the price will vary greatly from one hotel to another, and even the types of rooms or suites will vary in cost, often by as much as €100 to €300 depending upon the luxury you wish to enjoy.  Plus the old saying of location, location, location makes a difference when you are searching for a hotel in Paris itself.

Within Paris, the same as with many other cities in Europe a Continental breakfast is the usual option, however, many 4 star hotels will offer a buffet breakfast, but not just with cereals, fresh bread and pastries along with accompaniments.  More often than not there will be hot and cold choices available such as charcuterie, eggs, etc, although, for those of you who prefer breakfast within the comfort of your room, a continental breakfast is often available via room service.

Another point to bear in mind about European hotels, especially budget hotels along with 1, 2 and 3 star hotels, is that not many will come with tea and coffee making facilities, whereas this room facility referred to as a courtesy tray in many places, is a common occurrence within a 4 star hotel and some even have a Nespresso machine within a room or suite.

Technology has gone leaps and bounds over the last few years, with hotels having to come up to speed to meet the expectations of its clientele and flat screen TVs with Satellite and international channels having become almost standard practise, although not always in budget hotels, yet many 4 star hotels will offer additional services such as dedicated film or sports options.

Nowadays free WiFi is available throughout most hotels in Paris although some also offer high speed broadband internet via a connection at a desk in the room, even USB points, iPad docking stations and music entertainment systems for added pleasure are technological advances found in some rooms or suites.

In addition to this, business facilities and services are normally available in the higher rated hotels, whether it be conference rooms, fax facilities, computer terminals with printers and much more to meet the needs of people travelling to Paris for business.

You will find that although some 3 star or even 2 star hotels have complimentary toiletries, we have not come across a 4 star hotel that does not have this benefit as standard, plus most will also come with bathrobes and even matching slippers along with heated towel rails, within the more spacious and luxurious en suite bathrooms.

A 24 hour reception is standard practise at a four star hotel along with full concierge services by multilingual staff that will cater to virtually all your needs, whether it be a laundry or dry cleaning service, booking tickets to shows, making reservations at restaurants, or even chauffeur services and airport transfers, not forgetting porter services and room service, often 24 hours a day.

Wellness and fitness are also things that many clientele desire these days, and even though these can be limited due to the space available within the hotel itself, the majority of 4 star hotels in Paris do offer some kind of wellness facilities such as massages, sauna, Jacuzzi, a fitness room and so on.

4 star hotels usually come with a bar along with a restaurant, sometimes even a Michelin starred restaurant for those of you that want those added luxuries along with room service, and more often than not, there will be more than one area dedicated to eating, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner and even if not with a star rating, it will be a true gourmet experience.

So even if you cannot afford the luxury of a 5 star hotel in Paris with a price to match, then a 4 star hotel in Paris, or any other European city for that matter, is definitely the star rating to go for, whether you are travelling for a romantic weekend away, for business, or just as a family for a memorable holiday in pure comfort.
