While we were in the Grand Couvert area of the Jardin des Tuileries, which is a part of the garden covered by approximately 2,000 trees, we took this photograph looking in a north east direction towards one of the popular childrens attractions, being a traditional Carousel, spelt Carrousel in French.

A carousel, often referred to as a merry-go-round originally came about when they were constructed for the enjoyment of anyone rather than just as a spectator at old jousting events, and becoming popular at fairgrounds and then within parks, this is one of the entertainments for children permanently in the Tuileries Gardens.
