You will find that balustrade terraces were a key feature incorporated into many royal gardens, which was so that the royal family and their court could enjoy the views looking out over the more formal part of their garden, and we took this photo from the south curved section of the historical western terrace in Luxembourg Gardens, while looking towards the palace where Marie de Medici, the widow of King Henri IV of France once resided.
