Sculpture Et Peinture By Francois Felix Roubaud

This first HD photo shows two winged allegorical female figures depicting Sculpture and Painting that were produced for the Pavillon Daru by Francois Felix Roubaud back in 1857, and he was born in 1825, studying under James Pradier at the Ecole des Beaux Arts to become a French sculptor.

However, although Francois Felix Roubaud produced two different sculptures for the former Palais du Louvre, he was commissioned for many works in Lyon including at the Palais de Justice, and this is the city where he passed away in 1876.

Sculpture Et Peinture North Facade Pavillon Daru

But getting back to the bas relief of Sculpture et Peinture, as you can see from this photograph, this is located on the wing of the Louvre Museum called the Pavillon Daru and surround the part of a window in between the columns on the second level.

So to see this ornate decorative feature, you would need to be standing in the courtyard called the Cour Napoleon looking in a southerly direction towards the pavilion.
