Photo Images of Pont Alexandre III bridge in Paris Image 33

In this photo of the Pont Alexandre III bridge in Paris, you can see that there is only one low arch over the River Seine, and this was a major feat of engineering because the bridge was to be low so as not to distract from the views on either side, but you can also see the ornamental lamp posts along with the columns that are positioned at the ends, which are not just there for show, as they act as part of the bridge construction to support it.
