With this first photo you can see a close up view of the quadriga, or statue called L'Harmonie Triomphant de la Discorde, which is designed as a person in a chariot with horses, and in this image you can see far more detail than with the naked eye due to its location, and after surviving for over 100 years, they were removed for a short period of time in order to be fully restored to their former glory.
We took this photo while standing on Avenue Winston Churchill so you can see a side view of the statue group L'Harmonie Triomphant de la Discorde, or quadriga on the Grand Palais, which generally translates in English to Harmony Triumphing Over Discord and this was produced when the building was constructed for the 1900 World Fair.
In this photo of the quadriga statue group by Georges Recipon, you can also see one of the columns on the Alexandre III bridge that this artist also produced allegories for, yet ironically, the Harmony Triumphing Over Discord statue was meant to have a dark brown colour instead of the bluish green that was chosen to match better with the framework of the Grand Palais.
Now with this photograph of the L'Harmonie Triomphant de la Discorde statue group, you can also see the enormous glass and iron roof of the Grand Palais, which is one of the largest in the world, and this is one of two statue groups that are known as quadrigas, that are found on opposite corners of the front facade of this palace.
So, to discover the quadriga statues by sculptor Georges Recipon for yourself, these are located on the Grand Palais roof line within the 8th Arrondissement of Paris, with the best views being from the Avenue des Champs Elysees and for the L'Harmonie Triomphant de la Discorde statue group in these photos, the best views are from Avenue Winston Churchill and the Pont Alexandre III over the River Seine.
