Arbre II Enchanted Footbridge Exhibition Paris 2016
This first HD photo shows a contemporary art sculpture called Arbre II, which in English translates to Tree 2, and the ten different trees were a major part of the theme for a temporary art exhibition called La Passerelle Enchantee that was located on the Pont des Arts, pedestrian bridge over the River Seine.

Here you can see a view looking towards the Institut de France with the Arbre II in the foreground, plus there are two other trees you can see in this image, and these were sculpted by the contemporary artist Daniel Hourde for this temporary installation called The Enchanted Footbridge.
Stainless steel sculpture Arbre II by Daniel Hourde
You will find that when the Pont des Arts was first constructed, the idea was to make this pedestrian bridge like a suspended garden where people could promenade, yet it was not practical, but Daniel Hourde decided that this would be a major part of his exhibition along with the theme of myth and magic though his sculptures.

Now Tree 2 was designed utilising stainless steel with a mirror effect, which as you can tell, reflects the surroundings in an almost mythical and enchanting way, and Daniel Hourde chose different metals in order to also relate to this bridge that was in a transition stage from where padlocks used to be attached to the railings to the newly painted metals panels with plexiglass.

Here you can see Arbre II positioned on one of the temporary platforms for La Passerelle Enchantee installation, which was run alongside an art exhibition by the same artist at the Galerie Agnes Monplaisir in Paris, with the founder of the gallery being instrumental in the realisation of this project, along with the City of Paris.
