Now when walking around Paris you may be a little surprised how many statues you come across, just like La Vapeur sculpture we took photos of, which is located on the front facade of the Gare de Lyon train station in the 12th Arrondissement of Paris.

Gare de Lyon and La Vapeur sculpture
And, as you can see from this picture, the sculpture is actually part of the front wall, and this is one of the four allegorical statues found on the front facade of the Gare de Lyon, and all of these are designed to represent different progresses within industry, commerce and transport.
La Vapeur sculpture by Felix Charpentier
So, this particular sculpture you can see in both of these photos, called La Vapeur, was designed by the artist and sculptor Felix Charpentier to symbolise steam, and can be found on the south west facade of this historical building, that was constructed for the 1900 World Fair in Paris.
