This time while we were at the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris, we focused on the clock tower taking these HD photos showing the La Sirene sculpture on the south west facade of the building, which was produced by sculptor and artist Felix Charpentier.

Gare de Lyon and La Sirene sculpture
Now this elegant, yet imposing clock tower is not to be missed if you are anywhere near the Gare de Lyon, and as you can see from this photo we took the ornate stone sculpture La Sirene is situated just underneath a balcony on this famous belfry, which is on the same side as the main entrance to the station.

With this close up photo you can start to see the intricate design that went into the stone carving of La Sirene, which was produced by the artist and sculptor Felix Charpentier, who also created other statues for the facade of the Gare de Lyon, when it was constructed ready for the 1900 World Fair in Paris.
