Here is a view looking in a south westerly direction over the Jardins du Trocadero towards a traditional carousel, spelt carrousel in French, and also known as a merry-go-round, this is located at the bottom of the gardens close to the River Seine.

In fact, there are several carousels dotted all over Paris and although they first derived from a traditional horse and rider training exercise, by the 1700s the first amusement rides for children were being developed based upon this theme, and still just as popular today, like this one, they are a permanent fixture in several public parks including the Trocadero Gardens.
