When you are visiting different tourist attractions in Paris you may want to check what else is close by before your holiday, as like us, you may be surprised what is hiding around the corner, one such place that is a good example is the Palais de Chaillot, which has so much to offer its visitors like its Aquarium through to a museum on the evolution of mankind, let alone its unique architecture and golden statues, along with its great views of the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero Gardens.

Palais de Chaillot two wings
As we were walking from the Eiffel Tower and over the river Seine, we took this photo of the Palais de Chaillot with its two wings on either side and a central terrace that hold a theatre below, and this impressive building not only gives great view of the most famous landmark in Paris, it is also home to a few different museums and lots of statues that you can discover, even without going inside.

As you can tell from this HD photo that we took from the esplanade of the Palais de Chaillot, which is still sometimes known by the name of Espalande de Trocadero, you can get some incredible pictures of the Eiffel Tower, and in this image you can also see some of the eight golden gilded statues that were all produced by different artists, and the one nearest is called Les Oiseaux, which was sculpted by Louis Brasseur, and the other gilded statue is called Les Jardins that was produced by Robert Couturier.

This is a photo of the right hand side arc of the Palais de Chaillot and a bronze statue that sits in front on the terrace, which was sculpted by Henri Bouchard, and called Apollon Musagete or Apollo with Lyre, this is a Greek deity statue that was produced in 1937 by Henri Bouchard, and there is another of statue of Hercules on the opposite side.

We took this photo of the Palais de Chaillot from over the River Seine showing the right hand side wing with its trees and shrubs that sit in front of this palace, which are within the Jardins du Trocadero public Gardens that are also a very popular tourist attraction in Paris.

While we were standing on the stairs that lead up to the Palais de Chaillot, we took this photo of the garden to one side, which is actually a part of the Trocadero Gardens that face the River Seine, and even though this is a lovely area to relax and have a picnic, you will also find that the terrace and esplanade of the Palais Chaillot have fabulous views of the Eiffel Tower and gardens.

We took this photo of a statue at the Palais de Chaillot, which is located on the terrace on the left hand side of the arc shaped building, and sculpted in 1937 by Albert Pommier, this is called Hercule domptant un bison, which generally translates to Hercules with a bull, and there is another bronze statue of Apollo on the opposite side or the terrace.

The Palais de Chaillot has become one of the famous tourist attractions in Paris, and this is a photo we took showing a part of this impressive building that was designed by architects Louis Boileau, Jacques Carlu and Leon Azema, and on each of the wings either side there are inscriptions on the facade along with a bronze statue, which you may be able to just make out one of these in this image, that is located behind the tree and the children's carrousel positioned in front of the large window on the facade.

This is a photo of the Palais de Chaillot that we took while in the Trocadero Gardens with its great variety of different vegetation, and constructed on the site of the old Trocadero palace, this was designed in an arc shape as you can tell from this image, yet it also has two sides with an esplanade in the middle that splits the place in two where you will find different museums, even a theatre and an aquarium.

Here you can see a photo of the Pont d'Iena bridge as we were standing on the opposite bank of the River Seine to where the Palais de Chaillot is located, that is the building you can see in this image as a backdrop, which was constructed for the 1937 World Fair Paris and has incredible views of the Eiffel Tower and Trocadero Gardens from its elevated position on what was originally known as the hill of Chaillot.

As you can see you really do get fabulous views of the Eiffel Tower from Palais Chaillot, and to the left hand side of the esplanade there are four gilded statues as you can see from this image that we took, and the nearest one in this photo is called La Jeunesse that was sculpted by Alexandre Descatoire and the next one along is called Flore, which was produced by Marcel Gimond.
