Le Salon de Tea du Musee de la Vie Romantique

Sometimes known as the Cafe Vie Romantique, this is in a beautiful setting within the old greenhouse in the garden, yet is only open during the warmer months for teas, cakes, pastries, and some hot dishes like soup, pies, etc.

About the Tea Salon in the Garden

There is an old fashioned wrought iron greenhouse within the garden of the Musee de la Vie Romantique, which originally belonged to the painter Ary Scheffer, and it was here, amongst the trees and flowers, that were an inspiration to famous people such as Eugene Delacroix, Frederic Chopin and George Sand.

With its wrought iron green tables and chairs that match the greenhouse and the facade of the museum building, you can sit amongst the trees, enjoy the roses and numerous other plants and flowers that makes this a quiet, relaxing and romantic setting for lunch or afternoon tea.

Called Le Salon de The du Musee de la Vie Romantique, this translates in English to The Tea Room of the Museum of Romantic Life, even if the weather is not being so kind for you to enjoy sitting in the garden, you can retreat to the greenhouse for cover from the elements.

Whether you wish to enjoy a light lunch such as a Caesar salad, through to hot dishes including the soup of the day, chips, a savoury tart or toasted sandwich served with salad, there is a nice selection available ranging in cost from around €3 up to €10 as of 2018.

However, there are also pastries and cakes such as muffins, brownies and even fruit salad along with a variety of cold drinks including fruit juice.  But there are also hot drinks including infusion teas and the famous hot chocolate by Angelina and all of these range in price from around €2.50 up to €5.50 as of 2018.

Yet there is also a formula, which is a specific menu called the Formule du Jardin that comprises a tart, or pie of the day accompanied by a mixed salad, dessert of your choice and a drink for €16, plus another called the Formule Gouter, or Snack menu with a drink and dessert for €7 as 2018.
