The Peniche Marcounet is a wine bar and a music venue located on a boat permanently moored on the River Seine close to the Hotel de Ville and also offers snack meals along with a Sunday brunch including a childrens menu.

The Peniche Marcounet is an authentic barge that was first constructed back in 1925 and was transformed in the late 1990s into a cultural and festive place that hosts receptions and weddings, conferences and cocktail parties.

However, this is also a floating wine bar and music venue in Paris that is open to the public, and they have many different events organised throughout the year from DJs through to live music, bands, solo artists, pianists, etc, which do vary in cost but are an average of between €10 and €15, and these normally start at 8pm.

There is also what is known as a Musical Brunch on a Sunday from noon through to 4pm at the Peniche Marcounet, where you can enjoy live music, whilst having something to eat.  The cost for the Sunday Brunch is €22 for an adult as of 2014 and consists of a hot drink, a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, a pastry, bread, smoked salmon, delicatessen, scrambled eggs and chives and a skewer of fruit.  Yet there is also a dedicated childrens Brunch Formula available for €14.
You will find that the Peniche Marcounet is also known as a floating wine bar in Paris, with a glass of wine being an average cost of around €6.50, however there are also soft drinks available for €4 and hot drinks from €2.50.  But this boat also provides a great range of alcoholic cocktails for €10 including firm favourites like a Tequila sunrise, Mojito, Margarita, etc.

Yet if you would like something to go with your drink there different delights on offer such as a charcuterie or cheese platter, a mixed platter, Foie Gras and chutney, dry sausage with pickles and several others that go well with the setting and the variety of drinks on offer.

So with a warm and inviting atmosphere with concerts normally held on Tuesday to Thursday, along with the Music Brunch Sunday, you can enjoy the terrace when the weather permits, or venture inside and experience the cosy ambience of the Peniche Marcounet.

Visiting Peniche Marcounet Boat in Paris



The Peniche Marcounet is moored along the bank of the River Seine close to the Hotel de Ville and in between the Pont Louis Philippe and the Pont Marie bridges in Paris, and situated in the 4th Arrondissement it faces the Ile Saint Louis island.

The nearest Metro station is the Pont Marie stop via line 7 and from there you would need to go to the wharf and go down the concrete stairs to the river bank for boarding, but before just turning up, it is advisable to check that they are open, rather than the boat having been privatised for the day for a function.
