The Square du Vert Galant along with the Place Dauphine are named after King Louis XIII, who was the son of King Henri IV, and both were originally designed when the Pont Neuf was constructed, which is the bridge over the River Seine that you can see in this HD photo that runs in between these two squares, but getting back to the Square du Vert Galant, as you can tell, it is a lovely small garden that provides great views of the river and specific monuments such as the famous Louvre museum.

The Square du Vert Galant was obtained by the city back in 1884 and transformed, which was when it got its current name, and in 2007 it obtained a label called the Espace vert Ecologique, which translates to an Ecological Green Space, and when you look at this image with the incredibly wide variety of flora, it is easy to understand why this garden in Paris, that is situated in a quiet location, is just as popular today as it was centuries ago.
