About Hotel du Cygne

Situated in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris within an historical 17th century townhouse you will find the family run Hotel du Cygne, named after the road it is on, and the name Cygne translates to swan in English, so you will see references to this within the hotel, such as a sitting swan in the breakfast room.

Due to the age of the building, you will get to see many original features like the stone walls, wooden beams and two narrow spiral staircases dating from the 1600s that provide access to the hotel rooms, but because of the historical nature of the townhouse, there is no lift and therefore it is not suitable for the disabled.
This 2 Star hotel in Paris also has pieces of period furniture such as an old grandfather clock and a writing desk in the French Empire style along with items in an Art Deco style, which mix in with the more modern touches such as a comfortable sofa in the lounge area by reception.

Hotel du Cygne continental breakfast

With a welcoming atmosphere and staff speaking English as well as French, this family run hotel does offer a very basic typical French continental style breakfast with tea or coffee, fruit juice and croissants in the breakfast room each morning for an approximate cost of €8 per person.

Now due to the historical nature of the townhouse, unfortunately there is no air conditioning, although for those very warm nights a fan can be provided, yet there is good double glazing meaning a quiet and peaceful night can be had by all who stay at the budget Hotel du Cygne.

Rooms at the Hotel du Cygne

There is a choice of single, twin and double rooms at the Hotel du Cygne, which are all individually decorated, so have a slightly different style and although small, due to the style of the historical townhouse, they all come with a TV, desk, telephone and small personal safe. These have an en suite bathroom with either bath or shower plus a hairdryer along with free WiFi internet access.

The Hotel du Cygne also has two very small single rooms with just a hand basin, one on the first floor and the other on the third floor, and these share a bathroom on the second floor, so are ideal for a person travelling alone on a tight budget, who just want their own space to relax at night rather than being in one of the hostels in Paris.

The Hotel du Cygne Suite also comes with a bathroom, a flat screen TV, armchair, free WiFi and a small personal safe for valuables, plus the sofa can be used as a third bed if required.
