Even though construction of Les Invalides started in 1670 under the orders of King Louis XIV to provide a hospital for injured soldiers and a residence for war veterans, this impressive building complex is standing the test of time very well, as you can see in this photo showing the building connecting section with smaller dome rooms that leads to the Eglise du Dome church.
