Le Batofar night club and restaurant Paris
Le Batofar is a concert venue, restaurant and a night club in Paris that is open to the early hours of the morning, yet is an unusual venue, as it is set on an old lighthouse ship that is moored on the River Seine.
About Le Batofar in Paris
The Batofar is an old lighthouse boat that used to patrol the waters after dark to help other boats with navigation, but you will not be travelling anywhere on this boat now, as it was sold back in 1988 and was permanently moored on the River Seine.
This then became the start of a trend for unusual venues and night clubs on a boat, which has now been running for over 14 years, and even though this particular venue has become famous for its techno sounds and international DJs, there is a lot more to Le Batofar than just being a night club in Paris.
The Batofar restaurant
You can enjoy a culinary experience aboard this boat with a dedicated kitchen team that provides classics of French cuisine and international dishes with inventive flavours, in a warm and friendly atmosphere that has a unique setting.
Now, if you are looking at eating at the batofar there are only 70 places available for dining at any one time, and therefore reservations are virtually always necessary, but you could have delights such as a mushroom cannelloni with spicy sauce, chicken Caesar salad or monkfish carpaccio for starters. Main course could be sirloin steak with shallots and French fries or red curry prawns and wild rice for instance to be followed by one of their tempting desserts.
And as of 2013 a starter ranges in cost from €8 upwards, a main course is from €14 upwards and the desserts are €8, but there are different rates and menus available for groups, private events, etc.
The Batofar restaurant in Paris is open for lunch on a Monday to Friday from midday through to 2pm and on a Tuesday to Friday they are opening for evening dinner from 7.30pm through to 11pm. The restaurant is also open on a Saturday evening from 6.30 through to midnight, yet the Batofar is closed on a Sunday and at all other times not mentioned.
The Batofar terrace
Located on the deck of Le Batofar, there terrace is covered and heated in winter to provide original and enchanting views of the River Seine, but this is also where the smoking area of the boat is located.
On the terrace, known as an after work venue, all through summer and winter you will find it is home to different DJs and a unique décor with its own musical atmosphere, yet it has a full bar along with hot and cold tapas, cocktails, etc that are available in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.
However, sometimes there are live performances and other events that take place on the Batofar Terrace, yet there is free admission to the Terrace and they provide a Happy Hour at the start of each evening.
And this area is open on a Tuesday to Saturday from 7pm through to midnight during the winter months of October to April, whereas from May to September this is open from 6pm through to 11pm.
The Batofar beach
The night club is located in the heart of the ship and is classed as the heart and soul of the Batofar with its fantastic bar, dance floor, sound system, LED displays and of course the incredible DJs that make this a night to remember.
It is here in this night club in Paris that the team put together an incredible programme of concerts with live bands that are available on a Tuesday through to a Friday from 7pm to 10pm.
In addition to the international DJs for the current hip hop, rock, techno and world music that is available on a Wednesday through to a Saturday from 11pm to the early hours of the morning, which is normally around 5am. And you can book tickets to either a concert, the club scene, or both via telephone or directly on their website where you can also find out about upcoming events.
But talking of events, each year for New Years Eve, they hold a special event, known as the BoomBoom Formula, where you have dinner, wine and a glass of champagne along with entry to the club and after, all for €60 as of the 2013 party. And this party goes in full swing on Le Batofar club and restaurant venue from 10pm right through to midday the following day in a unique atmosphere, yet places are of course very limited, so this is something that has to be booked well in advance.
