The Metro has become a major part of Paris city life, just as it has in many other countries around the world, and although it is often referred to as an underground system, there are parts of the Paris Metro that are above ground, just like the Bir-Hakeim station that you can see in this photo, which is also a convenient way to get the famous Eiffel tower quickly, like in the sign you can see in the image.
