Located in the foothills of the
Mont Canigou in the Pyrenees Orientales area of the Languedoc Roussillon region where
Camping Canigou takes its name from the scenery and incredible landscapes surrounding this
French campsite will inspire and awe any camper no matter what their age.
There are 115 pitches for tents and caravans, most with electric hook-ups at 6amp along
with chalets to rent if you do not have your own camping equipment or touring van.
Other services include two renovated sanitary blocks, washing machines and washing area, a
shop, dedicated BBQ areas dotted along the riverbank, a bar with large terrace and a
restaurant plus snack bar on the campsite if you do not feel like cooking all the time.
You will also find that there are organised entertainment evenings such as live music from
a local band, discos and karaoke along with theme dinner evenings preferred in from of you
by the Catalan chef and this campsite in France also organises excursions such as 4X4
trips up the mountain.

In the summer months this French
campsite dams up the river to make a natural bathing area, moreover, bus tours to
Barcelona in Spain are organised once a week, plus there is a games room with billiards,
etc, table tennis, volleyball, boules ground and an unusual activity is the tree top
adventure centre that is supervised by qualified instructors and suitable for adults and
children aged 10 or over for a fun family camping holiday in France.
Yet all of these on site facilities does not include what you can enjoy in the local area
like the numerous places you can visit from fortifications through to vineyards, along
with experiencing a train ride through mountains and gorges. In addition, there are
numerous adventure sports such as rock climbing, rafting, canyoning and many more to enjoy
for a fabulous camping holiday you will never forget.
