Even though most people think about the Eiffel Tower as the most popular tourist attraction in the capital city of France, the Notre Dame Cathedral is also exceedingly popular as you can no doubt tell from this photo we took with the thousands of people in the square in front that had a gallery set up for the special occasion of its 850 year anniversary, yet it is also a part of Paris city life, as it is still a fully operational Catholic Church with services and mass held daily, so there are also thousands of pilgrims that visit this historical monument every year as well.
