Now this image shows us looking down the Tuileries Gardens from the terrace by the Place du Carrousel in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris with numerous tourists mingling around the street sellers, which is actually the area that was originally in front of the Palais des Touilleries, that got destroyed during the Paris Commune in 1871.
Yet here you can see some very popular souvenirs of miniature Eiffel Tower ornaments along with key rings and fridge magnets that this street seller had laid out on a cloth to tempt the tourists into purchasing some gifts to take back home with them, which has become a part of city life in Paris.
And this last photo shows a view looking down the grand alley of the Tuileries towards the Place de la Concorde showing some of the prints and paintings that were also available to purchase, yet if you look very carefully you may notice the gilded top of the obelisk in the distance.
