With the Pont Neuf, which is the oldest bridge in Paris, in the background connecting to the Ile de la Cite island to the left of the image, we took this photo of some of the houseboats that are moored along the banks of the River Seine, and some are here permanently, yet there are approximately 1000 on the river, and some of these boats are available as rental accommodation for the many tourists that wish to see a different aspect to city life in Paris, or want a romantic weekend getaway in completely different surroundings from the hustle and bustle of being right in a city hotel.
