In a beautiful setting along the
Loir yet only 400m from the local town, Camping Loir les Grands Pres has 180 pitches for
tents, caravans and motorhomes that are spread over an area of more than 2.5 hectares in
addition to the fully equipped tents and mobile homes to rent.
Facilities on this campsite include a motorhome service area, a free WiFi zone, snack bar,
bar, launderette, a shop for basics and a fresh bread service, so your camping holiday can
be that little bit more comfortable.
Having direct access to the Loir, this is one of the French campsites with fishing
available along with canoeing and the campsite does do canoe rental even if you do not
have your own. In addition to these activities, adjacent to the site there is also
an outdoor heated swimming pool with diving board and a childrens pool, that is free for
campers to utilise from June through to September.
With numerous hiking and mountain biking tracks that start at this campsite in France,
which are ideal to go and discover the area, but there is also table tennis, and a kids
club six days a week in high season.

However, it is the rich history
and culture with the amount of places to visit that draws people to the Centre region for
a camping holiday in France, as you have chateaux like the renaissance Chateau de
Chambord, with its horse shows and sound and light shows. Other ideas include the
Vineyards and discovery routes with cellars for wine tasting, the Troglodyte villages and
cave dwellings, forests with nature trails and horse riding, traditional craft
demonstrations and workshops, medieval villages and much more.
