Justice and Temperance statues on Fontaine Saint-Michel
In this first HD photo you can see two of the statues on the Fontaine Saint Michel, which are located close to the top of the fountain above the pillars, and these are two of the four statues that represent the cardinal virtues of Prudence, Justice, Temperance and Fortitude.

So, the two statues produced in bronze that you can see here are Justice to the left, which was produced by Louis Valentin Robert and Temperance to the far right hand side that was sculpted by Charles-Alphonse Gumery.

Yet here you can see a close up photograph showing the statue of La Justice, which is an allegory made of brinze that was produced by Louis Valentin Robert, known as Elias Robert as his older brother also had the same name.

Born in 1821 in Etampes, Elias Robert studied under David d'Angers and James Pradier in Paris, first presenting works at the 1845 Salon for French artists, and becoming recognised for his talents, he had a prolific career as a sculptor, receiving many public commissions for statues and sculptures for tourist attractions such as The Louvre, Palais Garnier, Gare d'Austerlitz and this one of Justice for the Fontaine Saint-Michel.

However, this photograph shows the entire colossal fountain designed by Gabriel Davioud located at the Place Saint Michel in the 5th Arrondissement near the River Seine, with all of its different statues, which were all commissioned to and produced by different artists, including the main central group of Saint Michel, spelt Saint Michael in English, and hence the name of Fontaine Saint-Michel.
