HD photographs of Jean Perrin monument by Josette Hebert-Coeffin at the Grand Palais - Page 252

While we were visiting the Grand Palais we took these high definition photos of a monument dedicated to Jean Perrin, which is located on the northern side of the palace gardens in the 8th Arrondissement of Paris, by the Avenue du General Eisenhower.

Jean Baptiste Perrin monument by J Hebert-Coeffin
In this first photo you can see the memorial dedicated to Jean Baptiste Perrin, which was produced by the French sculptor and medallist Josette Hebert-Coeffin, and it is located amongst greenery opposite a fountain in the Grand Palais gardens.

And this image shows a different view looking towards the Grand Palais behind the memorial monument, which to us seems more like a gravestone, although we would like to point out that Jean Perrin is interred within The Pantheon, after his remains were brought back from New York in 1948.

This is a closer view of the memorial that as we mentioned, was sculpted by Josette Hebert-Coeffin, who was born in 1906 in Rouen and passed away in 1973 in Paris, and she became a renowned sculptor and medallist, winning a gold medal at the 1937 International Exhibition.

Yet this close up photo shows a close up of the bronze medallion, which depicts Jean Baptiste Perrin brilliantly, and born in Lille in 1870, he became a French physicist, a lecturer and became a professor at the Sorbonne University from 1910 through to the start of World War II, when he went to America to avoid the war, yet passed away in 1942.

And in this last photo of the Monument to Jean Perrin, you will find that he was actually awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1926 for realising the atomic nature of matter through experiments, confirming Einstein's theories, so what better place to put a memorial medallion than right by the Palais de la Decouverte at the Grand Palais, which is dedicated to science and discovery.
