HD photograph of ponds and shrubs in Jardins du Trocadero looking south - Page 88

When Baron Haussmann was redesigning Paris along with the engineer Jean-Charles Alphand and chief gardener Jean-Pierre Barillet-Deschamps numerous different gardens and parks were established throughout the city, with the most notable being the Bois de Boulogne and the Bois de Vincennes, yet the Jardins du Trocadero were also being laid out.

Ponds Within Jardins Du Trocadero Looking South

Over approximately 20 years, there were more than 600,000 trees planted, and even after the fall of Napoleon III the transformation of the city continued and this is a view looking at a part of the English styled Trocadero Gardens with its ponds that Jean-Charles Alphand designed, although some of the trees are more recent additions, even though many do date back to the 1800s.
